By downloading, installing, or using IdeAI ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
IdeAI is a privacy-first AI journaling application developed by Magentic. The App provides:
- Secure, encrypted note-taking and journaling
- On-device AI-powered features for reflection and insights
- Voice and vision capabilities processed locally on your device
- Optional iCloud synchronization across your devices
3. User Responsibilities
3.1 Acceptable Use
You agree to use IdeAI only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Circumvent any security features of the App
- Use the App to store or transmit malicious code
3.2 Account Security
Your journal data is protected by encryption keys stored on your device. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the security of your device
- Using device passcode/biometric protection
- Keeping your iCloud account secure if sync is enabled
4. Intellectual Property
4.1 Your Content
You own your content. All journal entries, notes, and personal data you create in IdeAI belong to you. We do not claim any ownership or license to your personal content.
4.2 Our Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, features, code, and branding, is owned by Magentic and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute the App without our permission.
5. AI Features Disclaimer
IdeAI includes AI-powered features that provide insights, suggestions, and analysis based on your journal entries. Please understand:
- AI-generated content is for informational purposes only
- AI suggestions should not be considered professional advice (medical, legal, financial, or psychological)
- AI responses may not always be accurate or appropriate
- You should use your own judgment when acting on AI suggestions
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
- Accuracy, reliability, or completeness of AI-generated content
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
- Compatibility with all devices or operating systems
7. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MAGENTIC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
- Any damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App
- Any actions taken based on AI-generated suggestions
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
8. Data and Privacy
Your use of IdeAI is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle (or rather, don't handle) your data. In summary:
- Your data is encrypted and stored locally on your device
- We do not have access to your journal content
- All AI processing happens on your device
9. Termination
You may stop using IdeAI at any time by uninstalling the App. Upon uninstallation:
- All locally stored data will be deleted
- iCloud data can be managed through your Apple ID settings
- These Terms will cease to apply to you
10. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by:
- Updating the "Last updated" date
- Providing notice within the App for material changes
Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
12. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
